Intelligence collection and events

This is how Maneuvr turns the open web into competitive decisions.

How collection works

Every night, Maneuvr runs a pipeline across all your active competitors:

  1. Fetch -- polls every enabled source (website pages, RSS feeds, review sites, news APIs, Google Trends).
  2. Change detection -- compares each fetch to the previous snapshot. Unchanged pages are skipped entirely, so the AI only processes what's actually new.
  3. Extract -- an LLM reads changed content and pulls out structured events: what happened, when, and what type of signal it is.
  4. Relevance check -- a second LLM pass filters out false positives (same-name companies, passing mentions). Every decision -- kept or dropped -- is logged for auditability.
  5. Impact brief -- for events that pass the relevance check, Maneuvr generates a "so what" brief with a recommended response and deal-relevance score.
  6. Digest -- events are collated into a Markdown digest grouped by competitor and type.

You can also trigger a manual run at any time from Settings > Runs or the competitor index.

Impact briefs

Each surfaced event gets an impact brief that includes:

  • So what -- a short interpretation of why the event matters for your business
  • Recommended response -- what your team should do
  • Deal relevance score (0-1) -- how likely this signal affects live deals
  • Impact tags -- e.g. pricing_pressure, feature_parity_gap, messaging_shift, talent_threat, funding_runway, partnership_threat, market_expansion
  • Affected segments -- SMB / mid-market / enterprise, or by region
  • Diff excerpt -- the specific snippet of changed content that triggered the event

The event feed (Dashboard)

The Dashboard shows all events across your tracked competitors, ranked by deal-relevance score then importance then recency.

Filter by type using the chips at the top of the feed: All, Funding, Pricing, Feature, Product, Hiring, News.

Actions on each event:

ActionWhat it does
BookmarkSaves to your personal review queue
AcknowledgeRemoves from the active feed without deleting
Promote to battlecardSends the event as evidence to the battlecard autofill queue
DismissHides the event for you (doesn't affect other workspace members)

Importance scores

Every event has an importance score from 0 to 1, set by the model during extraction.

  • 0.8 and above = critical. These trigger instant alerts and appear in the "critical events" KPI on the Dashboard.
  • Below 0.8 = surfaced in the standard feed and digests, ranked by score.

Run health

The Dashboard KPI strip shows the last run's timestamp and source success rate (sources OK / total sources polled). If a run failed or returned zero sources, you'll see a warning with a link to Settings > Runs.

Run history in Settings shows every run with start and end times, source success rate, events created, and a status badge. If a source is repeatedly failing, check whether the URL is still live or paused.

Manually adding events

You can log an event by hand from the competitor's Timeline tab. This is useful for signals Maneuvr doesn't capture automatically -- a conversation at a conference, a sales call where a competitor was mentioned, an analyst briefing.

Frequently asked questions

How often does Maneuvr check sources? By default, once per night. Team and Business plans can adjust the cadence in Settings > Runs.

What if a source is behind a login? Maneuvr only monitors publicly accessible URLs. It can't log into review platforms or authenticated portals.

Why did Maneuvr drop an event I expected to see? The relevance check filters out events where the content isn't clearly about your tracked competitor. If you're seeing false negatives, add or adjust the competitor's sources to give Maneuvr more specific pages to watch.
