Competitors
Competitors (called entities in the app) are the companies you track. Everything in Maneuvr -- events, battlecards, digests -- is organised around the entities in your workspace.
Adding competitors
Go to Competitors and click Add competitor. You can paste a URL or type a company name. Maneuvr resolves the domain and suggests monitoring sources automatically.
Bulk add: paste a list of names or URLs (one per line) to add several at once. Your plan's competitor cap applies to the total number of active entities in the workspace.
Competitor cap by plan: Free 3 / Starter 10 / Team 25 / Business 75.
Your own company
You can mark one entity as your own company. This grounds impact analysis and battlecard comparisons in "why we win / why we lose" framing rather than treating you as a generic competitor. Set this during onboarding or from the entity settings tab.
Competitor list
The competitors index shows every entity in the workspace with:
- Category and threat level
- Last detected event
- Number of monitored sources
- Active or archived status
Sort and filter to focus on what matters -- sort by threat level or filter by category.
Threat levels
Each competitor has a threat level that controls sorting and badge colour across the app.
| Level | When to use |
|---|---|
| Critical | Active in deals, directly competing for the same customer |
| High | Meaningful overlap, regular wins and losses against them |
| Medium | Partial overlap or growing presence in your category |
| Low | Rarely comes up, limited overlap |
| Watching | On radar but not currently a real threat |
Set threat level from the entity detail page under Settings.
Entity detail
Click any competitor to open their detail page. It has five tabs:
Overview -- name, category, threat level, key links, and a summary blurb.
Timeline -- all detected events for this competitor, filterable by type. Use the action bar on each event to bookmark, acknowledge, or promote to battlecard.
Sources -- the list of URLs and feeds Maneuvr monitors for this competitor. You can add URLs manually, mark sources as important (higher ranking weight), pause, or delete sources. Run source discovery to get fresh suggestions.
Battlecard -- the competitor's current battlecard with a Regenerate button. See Battlecards for detail.
Settings -- rename, recategorise, change threat level, or archive.
Sources
Sources are the specific URLs and feeds Maneuvr polls during each intelligence run. Common source types:
- Website pages: homepage, /pricing, /changelog, /blog, /product, /careers
- RSS feeds
- Review sites: G2, Capterra, Trustpilot
- News and trends: GDELT, NewsAPI, Google Trends
Maneuvr suggests sources automatically when you add a competitor. You can add any public URL manually. Mark a source as important to weight it higher when ranking events.
Running a collection manually
Click Run now from the competitor index or from Settings > Runs to trigger an immediate collection across all active competitors. The nightly scheduled run covers all of this automatically -- manual runs are for when you need fresh data right now.
Archiving competitors
Archiving a competitor stops collection and removes them from your active cap, but preserves all their history. Restore them at any time from the competitor index filter (toggle to show archived).
Auto-source all
The Auto-source all button in the competitor index re-runs source discovery for every entity that has fewer than the recommended number of sources. Useful after you've added several competitors manually.
